On October 12, the first China Respiratory Health Conference, jointly guided by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Health Commission and co-organized by the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, the Guangzhou National Laboratory, and the National Key Laboratory for Innovative Development of Modern Chinese Medicine, was held in Hengqin, Guangdong. At the conference, the Community for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Respiratory Health was officially launched. Academicians Zhong Nanshan, Zhang Boli, and Liu Liang presented certificates to representatives from the first seven member organizations.
Tibet Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd., as the sole Tibetan medicine enterprise, has become one of the first seven member companies. The other companies include Guangzhou Baiyunshan Hutchison Whampoa Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd., China Resources Sanjiu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Jinyu Daruentang Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Buchang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Suzhou Zhongyao Group Co., Ltd., and Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group Jiangsu Longfengtang Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd.

In his speech, Academician Zhong Nanshan, Chairman of the Conference, emphasized that respiratory health itself is both a preventive measure and a therapeutic approach. In this regard, traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine should work together synergistically and complement each other’s strengths. Academician Zhang Boli, also Chairman of the Conference, noted that in this new era and on this new journey, as long as we tap into the rich treasure trove of traditional Chinese medicine and leverage modern scientific and technological tools to promote the inheritance and innovation of TCM theory, while seizing the favorable opportunity for the integration of TCM and Western medicine and their complementary advantages for collaborative development, we will surely write a new chapter in the cause of respiratory health.
“As an integral part of traditional medicine, Tibetan medicine boasts a history of over 3,000 years and has accumulated rich and valuable experience in the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases. Even today, it continues to demonstrate unique clinical value and is gaining increasing recognition,” said Liu Kaili, Chairman of Qizheng Tibetan Medicine and a representative of the first batch of member units of the Chinese Medicine Respiratory Health Development Consortium. As one of the consortium’s initial members and a leading modern Tibetan medicine enterprise, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has already collaborated with top-tier domestic experts and research institutions to validate the distinctive therapeutic advantages of Tibetan medicine in the respiratory field, achieving promising results. Looking ahead, the company will further conduct high-level research to deepen the exploration of Tibetan medicine’s clinical value and provide even better Tibetan medicine solutions for the respiratory health of people across the nation.
It is understood that the current Chinese Medicine Respiratory Health Development Community was jointly initiated by the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health, the National Key Laboratory for Respiratory Diseases, the Institute of Chinese Medicine Research at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Haihe Modern Chinese Medicine Laboratory. The community aims to foster the development of the Chinese medicine respiratory health industry through deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application, and to jointly promote the coordinated development of scientific and technological innovation and industrial applications.
