A park-like factory, modernized production processes, and a corporate philosophy deeply rooted in Tibetan culture... Yesterday, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd. invited numerous media outlets to its Yuzhong production base for a media briefing, giving attendees a brand-new perspective on this ethnic pharmaceutical enterprise.
As a leading domestic enterprise in modern Tibetan medicine, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has leveraged technological innovation to overcome the “four major challenges” plaguing traditional Tibetan medicine and is driving the upgrading and transformation of the traditional Tibetan medicine industry through industrial engagement. For 20 years, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has been dedicated to the pain management field—from early efforts focused on spreading Tibetan medical culture to today’s internet-based patient care—always emphasizing keeping pace with the times and actively engaging with consumers. In an era when consumer demands are becoming increasingly diverse, Qizheng also places great importance on meeting consumer needs while simultaneously prioritizing user experience. In 2015, the company focused on three key areas where Tibetan medicine excels—orthopedics, gynecology, and neurology—and developed integrated pain management solutions, culminating in the “2015-2017 Qizheng New Product Development Needs Report.” At the same time, based on the consumption needs and expectations of different demographic groups—elderly, middle-aged, and young—Qizheng completed the planning of its pain-relief product line, creating what we call the “Pain Map.”
Currently, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has established a specialized marketing system driven by both “brand leadership and academic expertise,” featuring a three-pronged approach that leverages large hospitals, retail channels, and primary healthcare institutions. The company has built the largest domestically-owned sales team dedicated to Tibetan medicine, comprising over 1,000 members. By leveraging technological innovation, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has addressed the “four major persistent challenges” faced by traditional Tibetan medicines. As of the end of 2015, one product had been included in the National Essential Medicines List, 12 products were listed in the National Medical Insurance Catalog, 38 products were covered by local medical insurance programs, 26 products were incorporated into local essential medicine lists, and 41 products were added to the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme catalog.
In 2015, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine achieved an operating revenue of 995 million yuan, representing a 4.70% increase over the same period last year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached 265 million yuan, up 11.53% year-on-year. While preserving and carrying forward traditional Tibetan medicine production processes, the company’s manufacturing center has actively promoted clean production through process and technological innovation, implemented comprehensive pollution control throughout the entire production cycle, continuously reduced its environmental footprint, achieved energy savings and emission reductions, and established a green manufacturing process for Tibetan medicine. This has enabled the company to continually enhance its manufacturing competitiveness and lead the ancient Tibetan medicine industry toward modernization.
