Pain-relieving plaster achieves a new height in academic research.

　　Recently, the 8th World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) was held in Cancun, Mexico. The paper titled “Clinical Study on the Treatment of Sports-Related Hamstring Injuries with Qizheng Xiaotong Paste,” presented by Dr. Duan Ligong, Deputy Chief Physician at the Institute of Sports Medicine of the General Administration of Sport of China, was accepted for inclusion in the conference proceedings. This marks the first time that clinical research results on our company’s core product, Xiaotong Paste, have been showcased at an international academic conference, signifying that the academic research level of Xiaotong Paste has reached a new milestone.

　　Dr. Duan Ligong, the researcher of this project, is an associate chief physician at the Institute of Sports Medicine of the General Administration of Sport of China. He primarily focuses on clinical and basic theoretical research on sports injuries as well as medical service support for national teams. Over the years, he has undertaken 10 projects under the National Olympic Research Program and the National Natural Science Foundation. Since 2001, he has successively served as a team-based research coach and team doctor for the National Cycling Team, the National Cross-Country Skiing Team, and the National Biathlon Team. Starting in 2010, he has devoted himself to researching pain management after sports injuries and has taken charge of the project titled “Clinical and Basic Research on the External Use of Qizheng Xiaotong Paste for the Treatment of Sports-Related Soft Tissue Injuries.” At this conference, Dr. Duan was invited to deliver a keynote speech, during which he explained the background, design, diagnostic and therapeutic criteria, and methods for evaluating athletic function of the clinical trial for this project. He also highlighted the unique features of the Xiaotong paste in relieving pain and promoting functional recovery from acute sports injuries—particularly its remarkable effect in improving eccentric strength of the hamstring muscles. His presentation received high praise from the attendees.

　　As an international society active in the field of rehabilitation medicine, ISPRM was formed in 1999 through the merger of the International Society for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the International Federation of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The society primarily comprises organizational and individual members who are professionals in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Its mission is to help physicians enhance their understanding and knowledge of the pathophysiology and management of impairments and disabilities—from both a knowledge and skill perspective as well as an attitudinal one—while also assisting individuals with impairments and disabilities in improving their quality of life. Additionally, ISPRM provides a mechanism for reporting information on medical rehabilitation to international health organizations and offers guidance and advice to organizations and groups dedicated to rehabilitation efforts. The society holds an international academic conference every two years.
