On November 6, the International Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Industrial and Information Technology Sector—hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and supported by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development—and the launch event for the “China Report on Sustainable Development in Industry and Information Technology (2020)” were successfully held in Shanghai. Liu Liehong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Fan Bin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industrial Policy and Regulations; and Masamichi Kawano, Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD, attended the event. Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was selected as one of the “100 Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Reports” by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, thanks to its remarkable performance and achievements in corporate social responsibility, and was invited to co-initiate the “China Initiative for Sustainable Development of Enterprises in the Industrial and Information Technology Sector.”

At the conference, a concentrated release of corporate social responsibility reports from 100 outstanding enterprises was held. This is the first time that a nationwide collection of CSR reports from industrial and telecommunications companies—recommended by government organizations, industry associations, and local authorities and involving active participation by the enterprises themselves—has been publicly released. The number of enterprises featured in this concentrated release nearly reached 200, setting a new record for the largest-ever such gathering. Xiong Meng, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, pointed out that the overall quality of the centrally released CSR reports reflects a more systematic and standardized approach to corporate social responsibility management. The reports comprehensively address pressing economic, social, and environmental issues of the new era and proactively align with the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. As a result, these reports have increasingly enhanced their social value and brand-building capabilities, playing a positive and supportive role in advancing China’s brand strategy. The CSR report of Qizheng Tibetan Medicine systematically and comprehensively discloses the company’s top-level design for sustainable development, key thematic issues, practical approaches, and progress toward achieving critical performance indicators. It details specific achievements in areas such as patient care, technological innovation, employee development, cultural preservation, and resource protection. Since its IPO in 2009, the company has voluntarily published annual CSR reports for 11 consecutive years.
The “Initiative for Sustainable Development of China’s Industrial and Telecommunications Enterprises” was launched for the first time at the conference. This initiative commits enterprises to actively fulfilling their social responsibilities and promoting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. It calls upon enterprises to adhere to the five development concepts and, through concrete actions, create a favorable social environment that fosters the sustainable development of industrial and telecommunications enterprises, thus building a community with a shared future for mankind and a sustainable, better future. As a representative of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of sustainable development, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was invited to co-initiate this initiative. Established in Linzhi, Tibet, in 1995, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has upheld the concept of sustainable development throughout its 25-year journey, steadfastly adhering to its core values of “doing good and benefiting others, pursuing righteousness and integrity in business.” It remains committed to its corporate mission of “spreading wisdom and caring for health.” By gaining deep insights into patient needs, striving for industrial upgrades, paying close attention to employee growth and development, safeguarding and passing on Tibetan medicine culture, sustainably utilizing resources on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and addressing and meeting the expectations and needs of all stakeholders, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has grown together with local communities and achieved harmonious coexistence with the natural environment. As of the end of 2019, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine had cumulatively invested 120 million yuan in social welfare initiatives—including healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation—in Tibetan areas and western China. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has donated Tibetan medicines, epidemic prevention supplies, and financial assistance totaling 6.7 million yuan.
