Qizheng Tibetan Medicine: Exploring a Diversified Model Centered on Tibetan Medicine

Qizheng Tibetan Medicine (002287) released its 2010 annual report on April 1. According to the report, the company achieved operating revenue of 524 million yuan, an increase of 11.58% year-on-year. Net profit also rose by 6.00% year-on-year to 170 million yuan. However, the weighted average return on equity declined by 6.48 percentage points to 14.63%.
The annual report indicates that the company will explore diversified business models centered on its core resources in Tibetan medicine pharmaceuticals and medicinal herbs, actively expand into the therapeutic and health-care markets, and intensify the in-depth application and development of its key herbal varieties. The company will also build demonstration bases for cultivation and production to high standards and continue to increase R&D investment, focusing on the secondary development of classic Tibetan medicines within the core therapeutic specialties of Tibetan medicine.
Moreover, fully leverage the capital platform to build integrated, end-to-end industrial advantages spanning planting, R&D, production, and marketing.
In terms of marketing, we will continue to focus on the orthopedic pain segment and actively expand into new therapeutic areas such as dermatology and gynecology. We will also remain committed to the Tibetan medicine industry and consolidate our leading position in the Tibetan medicine market.
In terms of manufacturing, we will further clarify the implementation details of the country’s new GMP standards and focus on accelerating the construction and expansion of the Tibetan medicine production lines under our fundraising and investment projects. We will also pay close attention to ensuring the sustainable supply of raw medicinal materials at the source and refine the production layout and positioning in five locations, including Yuzhong in Gansu and Linzhi in Tibet.
