The first six of the United Nations Global Compact’s ten core principles are all related to human rights and employees. Tibetan culture advocates for goodness and compassion, and these two—on both the principled and philosophical levels—highly overlap, addressing humanity’s most fundamental needs. As a traditional medicine enterprise deeply rooted in Tibet for over 20 years, these two principles have profoundly influenced Qizheng’s corporate culture and have also had a significant impact on the company’s approach to talent development.
Guided by the company’s core values of “doing good and benefiting others, pursuing integrity and excellence,” we have established employee and corporate behaviors that embody these principles: Our corporate members, through spiritual cultivation and self-improvement, attain moral standards and practical wisdom that are widely admired by society. Each member, through dedication to and continuous enhancement of their job responsibilities, earns professional ethics and expertise that are recognized within the industry—these qualities serve as the source of personal fulfillment and a happy life, and also represent the practical path for corporate members to do good and benefit others.
We advocate for dignified work and life.
Qizheng Tibetan Medicine is committed to enabling its employees to work and live with dignity. We place great emphasis on respecting employees’ cultural backgrounds and safeguarding their fundamental rights and interests; we are dedicated to offering competitive compensation and benefits; we strive to create a positive and supportive work environment that ensures employees’ health and safety; we are committed to providing employees with excellent opportunities for personal and professional development; and we recognize, respect, and reward the value that our employees bring to the company. We emphasize career development and capability enhancement.
Qizheng places great emphasis on cultivating management talent from within its workforce—talents suited to different specialties, regions, and cultural backgrounds—in order to maintain organizational vitality through continuous talent renewal. At the same time, Qizheng continually recruits industry elites to drive its sustainable development, explores talent-development mechanisms tailored to various stages of the company’s growth, and provides employees with ample opportunities for advancement, enabling each employee to grow together with Qizheng.
After 20 years of development, Qizheng has established a multi-level, three-dimensional employee training platform that leverages both internal and external resources. All employees—regardless of gender, age, or ethnicity—enjoy equal opportunities for training and professional development, thereby enabling them to enhance their personal capabilities and foster the organization’s overall competence. Qizheng has also put in place an internal talent competition mechanism that not only expands employees’ career development opportunities but also invests heavily in helping the company’s core management talents improve their leadership skills.
We emphasize cultivating talent for ethnic minority regions.
Compared to inland areas, ethnic regions and less developed western regions have an even greater need for talents who possess a solid knowledge base, inclusive and confident qualities, and a long-term vision for development. In the Outline of the 12th Five-Year Plan, the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region proposed deeply implementing the strategy of revitalizing Tibet through science and education and the strategy of strengthening the region through talent development, intensifying efforts to attract urgently needed and scarce talents, optimizing the structure and distribution of talent resources, and promoting the coordinated development of talent teams at all levels and in all categories.
Since the first group of Tibetan local employees joined Qizheng Tibetan Medicine in Linzhi, Tibet, in 1996, the company has consistently placed great emphasis on cultivating local Tibetan talent throughout its 20-year development journey, giving equal importance to nurturing and developing local talent as it does to attracting external talent.
Meanwhile, as the company expands into multi-ethnic and multicultural regions, it respects and embraces the essence of local traditional cultures. It regards the preservation of Tibetan culture as an integral part of its corporate culture, thereby shaping its core values and mission, and developing a cultural framework as well as an employee code of conduct.
