On April 20, the China Guangcai Program Promotion Association honored entrepreneurs and advanced organizations that have achieved remarkable accomplishments to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the China Guangcai Program. Ms. Lei Jufang, Chairwoman of Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, was awarded the “China Guangcai Program Outstanding Contribution Award.” A total of 35 entrepreneurs and 10 advanced organizations received this honor in this year’s recognition ceremony.
In 1995, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine planted the first seed of the Guangcai Initiative in Tibet. Over the past fifteen years, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has driven the development of its core industry, put into practice the fundamental philosophy of the Guangcai Initiative in poverty alleviation, nurtured local talent, explored a sustainable operational model for the Guangcai Initiative, and created spiritual achievements that embody the essence of the initiative, thereby demonstrating a path toward harmonious development of the Guangcai Initiative.
The Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Guangcai Project has been successfully operating to date. The two GMP pharmaceutical factories and one GSP company established in Tibet have consistently ranked first among manufacturing enterprises in Tibet in terms of tax payments for many consecutive years, becoming a major source of local tax revenue and a key economic driver. A group of locally trained Tibetan professionals are actively occupying important positions, and local employees—including a number of workers with disabilities—are living comfortable and fulfilling lives. Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has achieved the fundamental principles and objectives of the Guangcai Initiative, making continuous contributions to the economic development of the Tibetan region through sustained economic and social benefits.
