Yushu Rescue—We’re Doing Our Best, Part 5
Bringing comfort to 116 people—it was all worth the effort!

At 6:30 a.m., the logistics team began cooking, and by 7:00 a.m., everyone had gradually started to wake up. At 8:00 a.m., the team got fully busy: members of the supplies distribution group set off on their day-long rounds, while medical team members began welcoming an endless stream of patients. Although they were so busy that they didn’t even have time to eat until after 9 p.m., and the weather was bitterly cold—two blankets couldn’t keep out the chill seeping in from the thin tents—no one complained. Zhang Yong couldn’t help but marvel at how, at such a high altitude and enduring such heavy work continuously, everyone seemed completely unaware of fatigue.
After finishing the medical treatment of 116 patients for the day and organizing the distribution of supplies, it was already past 10 p.m. As we contacted the company, the team representatives shared their day’s rescue efforts. Beyond the raw data, cheerful laughter from other team members also came through the airwaves. Though everyone talked about the hardships of rising early and staying up late, deep down, each of us felt an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and joy. We were truly happy to be able to do our part for the disaster-stricken area—and didn’t feel that it was particularly difficult at all.
Post-report reflection: Although we couldn’t witness firsthand the scene of more than 116 patients seeking medical care each day, nor could we personally share in the grateful words of the disaster victims and the relief workers’ heartfelt satisfaction after supplies were delivered to them, the simple yet profound words—“As long as we can do something for the灾区, no matter how tired we are, it’s all worth it”—have already connected us deeply with this heartfelt rescue relay.
