Committee Member Lei Jufang: Outstanding enterprises should shoulder greater social responsibility.

Before the 2017 National Two Sessions, Lei Jufang, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairperson of Tibet Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd., accepted an exclusive interview with China Tibet Magazine and China Tibet Net in Beijing.
In 1993, Lei Jufang founded Qizheng Group. In 1996, the “Qizheng Pain Relief Patch” received approval from the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region and was granted a drug registration number. Also in that year, the Milin Ten-Thousand-Mu Natural Tibetan Medicinal Herb Conservation Base, located in the Tibet Autonomous Region, was approved for establishment. Today, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine holds a total of 73 approved drug registration numbers for Tibetan medicines.
From pharmaceutical companies to shooting short films and providing medical support for international marathon events, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine is now striving to become a company that’s less traditional.
In addition to fulfilling its core business responsibilities, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has proactively taken on numerous social responsibilities. According to the “Qizheng Tibetan Medicine 2015 Social Responsibility Report,” over the past 20 years, Qizheng has provided more than 90 million yuan in funding for public welfare donations and community development support. During the production process, Qizheng has established a DNA fingerprint database for Tibetan medicines, promoting the sustainable use of resources and building green manufacturing processes. The company also places great emphasis on cultivating talent in ethnic minority regions, collaborates with farmers who cultivate authentic medicinal herbs, and optimizes the local industrial and economic structure.
From a senior engineer who started from scratch to the chairperson of a publicly listed company and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Lei Jufang always speaks with a gentle tone, even in casual conversation. In this exclusive interview, when discussing her plans for the national pharmaceutical industry, the industry’s contributions to society, and guiding young people toward employment, Lei Jufang thoughtfully shared her insights and ideas.
As a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Lei Jufang put forward several proposals at the Two Sessions, including prioritizing the formulation and approval of a catalog of time-honored classic prescriptions for ethnic medicines, fully leveraging the role of traditional ethnic medicine in poverty alleviation through health initiatives, and enhancing and intensifying public awareness campaigns regarding the country’s comprehensive medical insurance coverage for serious illnesses. As the leader of a Tibetan medicine enterprise, Lei Jufang is also guiding her company to continue moving forward along the path of “doing good, benefiting others, pursuing righteousness, and engaging in honest and upright business practices.”
