On August 28, the list of winners for the "14th China Listed Companies Value Selection," guided by the People's Daily Financial Media Group and organized by the Securities Times, was announced. Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was awarded the "China Listed Companies Social Responsibility Award" for its consistent practice of corporate social responsibility and its outstanding contributions during the pandemic.
Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, a leading domestic enterprise in Tibetan medicine, was founded in 1995 in Linzhi, Tibet. It was the first company to participate in the Guangcai Poverty Alleviation Initiative’s scientific assistance program for Tibet. The Guangcai Initiative’s philosophy of “balancing profit with public interest and emphasizing both moral integrity and practical action” has become one of the spiritual cornerstones of Qizheng Tibetan Medicine. Over its 25-year development journey, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has consistently upheld the principle of sustainable development and actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility. Guided by a top-level design for corporate social responsibility, various departments within the company have worked closely together, deeply understanding patient needs, pursuing industrial upgrades, focusing on employee growth and development, safeguarding and passing on Tibetan medical culture, sustainably utilizing resources on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and paying close attention to and meeting the expectations and needs of all stakeholders. As a result, the company has grown together with local communities and achieved harmonious coexistence with the natural environment. By the end of 2019, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine had cumulatively invested 120 million yuan in social welfare initiatives—including healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation—in Tibetan areas and western China.
Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine promptly donated its classic Tibetan medicine for epidemic prevention—“Influenza Pills”—to the frontline medical staff in Wuhan. It also urgently supplied the “Gansu Formula,” a Tibetan medicine prescription tailored for treating COVID-19, to the Gansu medical team aiding Hubei. Furthermore, the company provided medicines to protect members of the medical teams aiding Hubei as well as healthcare workers caring for imported cases from abroad. By actively promoting the involvement of Tibetan medicine in COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has facilitated the wider clinical use of targeted Tibetan remedies, offering an additional therapeutic approach to combat the pandemic and alleviating pressure on frontline medical personnel. Meanwhile, the company has joined the research team led by Academician Zhong Nanshan in screening Tibetan medicines for potential use in COVID-19 prevention and treatment. Additionally, it has coordinated domestic and international channels to promptly provide local governments in Tibet and Gansu—as well as public welfare organizations such as the Ban Ki-moon Foundation—with essential epidemic prevention supplies and financial support.
It is reported that this year’s value assessment employed both quantitative and qualitative methods. By systematically sorting through, comparing, and calculating multi-dimensional indicators—including financial and investment metrics—of listed companies, and in conjunction with the assessments made by industry experts on corporate governance, financial performance, and operational capabilities, the winning companies and individuals for this session were selected.
