Belarusian Ambassador to China Yuri Sienko Visits Gansu’s Tibetan Medicine and Culture.

From July 7 to 11, the 28th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair was held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. During the fair, Yuri Cenko, Ambassador of Belarus to China, and his delegation visited Yuzhong County to conduct an on-site inspection of the current state of Tibetan medicine development in Gansu and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
Yuri Sienko visited the Tibetan medicine culture exhibition hall and the modern Tibetan medicine production line of Gansu Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, and engaged in an in-depth discussion. Regarding potential practical cooperation for the future development of Gansu’s distinctive Tibetan medicine industry, Yuri Sienko stated that he would promote and introduce Tibetan medicine culture in Belarus.
Yuri Sienko also specifically expressed gratitude for Gansu Qizheng Tibetan Medicine’s support of Belarus’s epidemic prevention and control efforts. It is understood that Gansu has donated the “Gansu Formula”—including Tibetan medicine formulas—four times to Belarus, totaling more than 35,000 doses (bags), which have been warmly welcomed by the Belarusian side.
In 1903, the Tibetan medical classic "Four Medical Tantras" (rGyud-bzhi) was published in Russian. Today, it has been translated into numerous languages worldwide, including English, German, Mongolian, and Japanese. In 2018, Tibetan medicine was included for the first time as a distinct category in Europe’s medical authorization system, officially recognized by Swiss authorities as an integral part of complementary medicine and incorporated into the country’s product authorization guidelines. Tibetan medicine products from Gansu are also exploring various avenues to establish a track record of use in Europe. This business matchmaking event for the Tibetan medicine industry fully embodies the open and innovative spirit of this year’s Lanzhou Fair, thereby further advancing the possibilities for such exploration.
Gansu Province is one of the country’s major production bases for Chinese medicinal materials, currently boasting approximately 2,540 species of such resources. Since 2013, Gansu’s overseas development of traditional Chinese medicine has been steadily advancing; to date, it has established 16 overseas Qihuang TCM centers (institutes) in 12 countries, including Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Thailand, France, Madagascar, Pakistan, Russia, and New Zealand.
