Recently, the "2nd European Corporate Social Responsibility 2020 Summit" was solemnly held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Nearly a thousand participants attended the summit, including European Parliament President Schulz, Belgian King Philippe, representatives from globally renowned multinational corporations and CSR organizations, as well as experts and NGO representatives. At the summit, the European Youth Pact was launched, aiming to encourage businesses to assume greater responsibility in areas such as employment for young Europeans, provision of skills training, and youth development. As a representative of Chinese enterprises, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was invited to speak at the forum, sharing its practical experience in developing industries and fulfilling social responsibilities in ethnic minority regions under the broader context of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as its efforts in biodiversity conservation.
The European Corporate Social Responsibility 2020 Summit, organized by CSR Europe—the European Association for Corporate Social Responsibility—is the most prestigious and professionally focused conference in Europe’s social responsibility field. This year’s summit is themed “The Future of Sustainable Lifestyles and Work Practices in Europe,” and calls upon businesses to actively implement three key strategies to fulfill their social responsibilities: First, prioritize employability and inclusivity at the board of directors, management level, and throughout the value chain; second, encourage companies to become committed partners to their communities, cities, and regions, developing and implementing new sustainable approaches to production, consumption, and livelihoods; and third, place transparency and respect for human rights at the heart of business practices.
The “Belt and Road” initiative proposed by the Chinese government has drawn attention from European society. This summit, themed “Corporate Social Responsibility along the Belt and Road,” featured a dedicated forum. Under the leadership of the Golden Bee Corporate Social Responsibility Council, three companies—Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, Mengniu, and Hainan Airlines—took to the stage to deliver presentations, sharing their practical experiences in engaging in social responsibility and interacting with the European delegates attending the summit.
