On November 16, the Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group was established in Lhasa and held a listing ceremony. The head of the group stated that in the future, they aim to build the group into a leading enterprise with the most distinctive identity in China's ethnic medicine sector.
Zhang Qingli, Secretary of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Region Committee, and Bai Ma Chilin, Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Government, jointly attended the founding ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the group company.
At the founding ceremony, the "Reply of the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region Approving the Establishment of the Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group" was read aloud. According to the reply, the establishment of the Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group is approved in principle, and the Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group Co., Ltd. will be set up. Furthermore, it is agreed that the company shall be registered with the Administration for Industry and Commerce of the Tibet Autonomous Region under the name "Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group Co., Ltd."
The approval document states that the initiators of Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group Co., Ltd. include Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd., Autonomous Region Investment Co., Ltd., Autonomous Region Tibetan Medicine Factory, Autonomous Region Tibetan Medicine Group Co., Ltd., and Autonomous Region State-owned Assets Management Company. These companies have jointly initiated the establishment of the Tibetan Medicine Group Company by contributing capital in monetary form. The approval also specifies that the company’s business scope includes: cultivation and trade of Tibetan medicinal materials, research and development, production, and sales of Tibetan medicines, as well as wholesale and retail distribution of pharmaceutical products.
According to information provided by the group company to China News Service, Tibet Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Industry Group Co., Ltd. has a registered capital of 100 million yuan (the same applies below). The establishment of the group adopts a “building the nest to attract the phoenix” model. Enterprises with clear assets, aligned with the group’s strategic positioning, and willing to cooperate will take the lead in contributing capital to build the group’s platform. The government will implement relevant measures to give priority support to their development. Through modern management and market-oriented operations, the group will explore operational experience, exert demonstration and driving effects, and gradually bring in other Tibetan medicine enterprises that align with the group’s development strategy.
Regarding the future development positioning, the head of the group company stated that the strategic positioning of the Tibetan Medicine Group is guided by the principle of “government support, market-oriented operations, enterprise-based management, and group-based development.” The company will focus on expanding its business in Tibetan medicinal herbs and Tibetan proprietary medicines. Through group-wide operations, it will rationally plan the cultivation and development of Tibetan medicinal herbs; leverage market demand to aggregate variety resources; use technological innovation to drive the modernization of the Tibetan medicine industry’s production processes; and adopt modern marketing models to expand market scale. The company will also explore the market value of Tibetan medicines across various major therapeutic areas horizontally and delve into the overall market value of the Tibetan medicine industrial chain vertically. By concentrating resource investment on key Tibetan proprietary medicines and major Tibetan medicinal herb varieties, the company will remain rooted in Tibet, prioritize the domestic market, and strive to tap into international markets, gradually building itself into a large-scale, specialized, modern, and internationally competitive leading enterprise in the Tibetan medicine sector—a high-tech, integrated player encompassing production, education, research, and sales with comprehensive competitive advantages across the entire industry chain.
