Recently, the second "CSR China Education Award" was announced (Corporate Social Responsibility, abbreviated as CSR). Tibet Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd. won the top prize—the "CSR CHINA Model Award." This is the first time a domestic enterprise has received this prestigious award. The other four companies that also received the award are all multinational corporations: Intel (China), Coca-Cola (China), General Motors, and AkzoNobel (China).
As a traditional ethnic medicine enterprise deeply rooted in the Tibetan region, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine (002287) has, over the past two decades, not only fostered industrial talent for ethnic minority areas through its own corporate development but has also contributed to society’s talent cultivation in various ways—such as establishing Tibetan medical schools, sponsoring cultural institutes, supporting Hope Primary Schools, and setting up scholarships and grants. Lei Jufang, Chairwoman of Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, stated: “We hope that Qizheng Tibetan Medicine will become not just a company, but also a school for nurturing talent.”
It is reported that Qizheng Tibetan Medicine joined the UN Global Compact as early as 2004 and has consistently taken the ten core principles of the UN Global Compact as a benchmark for its corporate conduct, continuously integrating them into its business management and social responsibility practices. As a publicly listed company, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has become a model for Chinese listed companies in fulfilling their social responsibilities and has received numerous prestigious awards in the field of social responsibility for many consecutive years.
The “CSR China Education Award” is the only official award in China’s education sector, jointly initiated in 2014 under the guidance of the School Department of the Communist Youth League Central Committee and with the support of relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Held every two years, the award aims to encourage and recognize outstanding CSR projects that support the development of Chinese education, as well as enterprises, organizations, and individuals that have made remarkable contributions to the field of CSR-driven education.
