Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Listed Again on the Hurun Brand List

Recently, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was listed on the “2016 Hurun Brand List”—specifically, in the “2016 Hurun Institute’s Most Valuable Private Brands” category—released by the Hurun Research Institute. The brand’s value is 2.4 billion yuan, representing a 33% increase from the previous year, and its brand value accounts for 15% of the company’s market capitalization. This marks the company’s second entry into the Hurun Brand List, following its first appearance in 2015.
According to the introduction, the “2016 Hurun Brand List” includes not only the “2016 Hurun Research Institute’s Most Valuable Private Brands,” but also the “2016 Hurun Research Institute’s Most Valuable Chinese Brands.” This year’s list features 200 of China’s most valuable brands, of which 105 are non-state-owned and 95 are state-owned. This marks the eleventh consecutive year that the Hurun Research Institute has released the Hurun Brand List.
From an industry perspective, among the top 10 industries with the largest number of brands listed, the pharmaceutical and healthcare products industry ranks ninth, with a total of 11 brands on the list. Of these, 10 are among the Most Valuable Chinese Brands, and 6 are among the Most Valuable Private Brands (5 of which overlap with the Most Valuable Chinese Brands). The industry saw a 19% increase, and the combined brand value of its listed brands accounts for 2% of the entire ranking. In other words, 11 pharmaceutical companies made it onto this year’s brand ranking. In terms of geographic distribution, Guangdong Province has the highest number of brands from the pharmaceutical and healthcare products industry on the list, with 3 brands represented.
