Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Public Welfare Initiative: From the Plateau to the Interior—Innovating While Preserving Tradition

On April 8, the award ceremony for “Advanced Member Units in Self-Medication Education for 2022–2023,” hosted by the China Non-prescription Drug Association, was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. Qizheng Tibetan Medicine was honored with the title of “Advanced Member Unit in Self-Medication Education for 2022–2023” in recognition of its outstanding contributions to enhancing public health literacy and self-medication capabilities.
Qizheng Tibetan Medicine is a pioneer in the modernization of the Tibetan medicine industry. Relying on the unique culture of Tibetan medicine, it offers a diverse range of Tibetan medicinal products to meet public needs.
For many years, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine has upheld the corporate mission of “Promoting Health Wisdom and Creating Life Value.” Leveraging its professional strengths, the company has focused on products such as pain-relief patches, Tiebangchui pain-relief ointment, Qingpeng ointment, Bai Mai ointment, and Shiwai Longdan Hua, and has actively engaged in practical public welfare activities—including health education, free medical consultations, and medicine donations—in fields such as orthopedics, dermatology, and respiratory medicine. Through these efforts, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine strives to disseminate essential knowledge about the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of related diseases to the general public, thereby enhancing people’s self-medication skills and health literacy.
In 2023, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine, leveraging the Qizheng Charitable Foundation, launched the “Act of Kindness and Altruism—Special Pain Relief Care Initiative.” Starting on October 16 of that year, Qizheng’s volunteer philanthropists conducted free Tibetan medical consultations in Nima Township, Nagqu, Tibet, at an altitude of 4,950 meters. They distributed 37 types of Tibetan medicines free of charge to nearly 500 people, primarily from the elderly population.
The campaign continued in a relay fashion, with 30 Qizheng Public Welfare teams and 844 Qizheng volunteers traveling to communities, hospitals, and pharmacy areas in 43 cities across the country to carry out public welfare activities. They provided free topical applications and medication rubs as acts of care, benefiting more than 14,000 patients.
In 2022, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine’s free medical consultations reached over 500,000 people. In 2023, the number of people benefiting from these free consultations exceeded 600,000.
In its self-medication education efforts, Qizheng Tibetan Medicine emphasizes the integration of tradition and innovation. By carrying forward the benevolent intentions and good deeds of the Qizheng Public Welfare Initiative from the plateau to inland regions, it launches public welfare activities focused on caring for pain sufferers and expressing gratitude to its users. Through promoting Tibetan medicine culture and popularizing knowledge about Tibetan medicines, Qizheng aims to enhance public awareness and trust in Tibetan medicines, foster the healthy development of the Tibetan medicine industry, and actively contribute to the construction of a Healthy China.
